Avicena Wins Top Prize at National iAwards 2021

Avicena is proud to announce that the company has won three awards at the 2021 national innovation iAwards, including a top award:

🏆 Startup of the Year

We are also honoured to be a merit winner in two categories:

🏅 Technology Platform Solution of the Year

🏅 Business & Industry Solution of the Year

The iAwards is Australia’s longest-running innovation recognition program, promoting excellence in the Australian digital ecosystem.

Sentinel is a rapid, pandemic-scale screening instrument designed for COVID-19 and other pathogens.

The Sentinel is capable of testing more than 90,000 samples daily. The first Avicena Sentinel instrument is installed in Spain, with more in progress.

We sincerely appreciate the recognition by the iAwards judges and the AIIA. We are honoured to have participated amongst Australia’s best innovators and congratulate them on their successes so far.

We’d also like to share a special thank you to all of our government supporters, R&D and academic collaborators, and our international and financial partners.

Avicena Systems CEO Tony Fitzgerald said the awards were well-deserved recognition for the outstanding technological innovation of the Avicena team, including co-founders Paul Ostergaard and Paul Watt.
